ANNOUNCES DIGITAL TELEVISION E-LEARNING PROGRAM

The first course entitled Introduction to Digital Television explains
the evolution of television and the basic differences between analogue
and digital television. It also addresses the various broadcast standards
that are relevant to digital broadcasting.
Following on from that the second course on Interactive television, explains
the services offered (Video on Demand, Pay Per View, t-commerce etc.)
by Interactive television. It also looks into issues such as design, standardization,
copyright, security, server technologies and the many more benefits and
features associated with Interactive television (Interactive advertising,
tele-learning, tele -banking etc.).
The third course in this curriculum entitled "Digital Set top boxes"
looks at the basic functionality of a set-top box and the different types
of set-top boxes that are available. It also examines the core technologies
that are involved in processing and broadcasting Interactive television
content.
The final course entitled "Internet based TV applications" looks
at the evolution of the Internet and its expected influence on Interactive
television, and the technologies that will enable this to happen. It also
addresses the subject of TV e-mail.
